When I first got married I was more gung-ho about cooking than I am now. I must have had more time back then. When I cook, I don’t really use recipes, I just kind of make things up. Or, if I do use recipes they’re old family ones with instructions like “keep adding flour until it gets really hard to stir.”
Every time I made something noteworthy, I would take a picture of it. Due to the fact that I am not a food stylist, I have a large collection of mediocre photos of meals I made two years ago. However, I found this one the other day and thought it was post worthy.
It’s from a pear and pomegranate salad. I don’t think that pears or pomegranates are in season right now, but if you’re interested in making this one someday, it’s essentially just romaine lettuce, candied walnuts, pomegranate seeds, a chopped pear, and some variety of raspberry vinaigrette.
Enjoy!

Add some gorgonzola cheese in there, and it’s DELIGHTFUL!
