I’m headed off to the motherland (or fatherland, in my case), where I’ll be hanging out with family, gallivanting around my favorite lake in the world, eating my fill of unpasteurized cheeses, celebrating this guy’s 80th birthday, and (of course) taking tons of photos. I’ll also be starting a new project that I can’t wait to share when I get back.

Galleries Never Expire

First and foremost, proofing galleries never expire, so you can continue to have access to your images for years to come. Your previously expired galleries from past shoots have already been transferred, so you now have full access to them as well.

Digital Downloads

You can now purchase digital downloads of individual images. Each download comes with a copyright release for personal use. This will allow you to print the image at your photo lab of choice,or use it in your own projects. Commercial use licenses can also be purchased if needed.

New Print Options

In addition to the standard sizes that were already available, I now offer dozens of new print sizes, from panoramic to square crops and everything in between. Prints can be made on lustre or metallic paper, and are also available as canvas wraps and ThinWraps. To read more about print options, please visit my website, or our product information page.

Print Packages

You can save money when buying multiple prints by ordering Print Packages. These include wall packages with assortments of large canvas wraps and ThinWraps, as well as small print packages with multiple sizes and paper finishes.

Create a Card

You can design your own greeting cards using photos from your galleries. Choose from over 100 design templates and customize with your own text and images.

Products

If hundreds of print options, photo packages, and greeting cards aren’t enough, you can also order fun products that feature your images. We offer stickers, postcards, photo panels, magnets, key tags, and buttons.

Social Networking

You can share images from your galleries by sending email, links, and posting on Twitter and Facebook using the “be social” button in the Share menu.

Viewing Options

You can control your gallery’s viewing options from the Style menu, and even see a full screen slideshow of your images.

As many of you might be aware, October was National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Now that the month is over and many of us move on to prepare for the Holidays (yay!) I’m reminded that for those who are living with Breast Cancer, the fight is far from over.

A very close family member of mine is fighting Breast Cancer; she’s about halfway through her chemo treatments with surgery and radiation scheduled for the months ahead. We’re all doing what we can to help, and my sister in law Juli is giving 100% of the proceeds from her Etsy shop to help with medical bills. She makes really fun aprons and car seat covers, so if you’re in the market for anything like that, check out her store!

I had the opportunity to write a guest post over at The Bride and Groom this week! It’s full of tips to help you plan a greener wedding (but it’s worth a read even if you’re not planning a wedding–alot of the ideas can be applied to everyday life). You can check out the full post here.

I also thought it would be fun to re-post my favorite section of the blog right here! It’s all about food, a topic with which I’m mildly obsessed.

-Each food item in the average U.S. meal travels 1500 miles from farm to plate, and comes much further if it is out of season in our hemisphere and has to be brought in from the other side of the world. The fuel consumption and carbon emissions required for this type of jet-setting is excessive, not to mention the environmental impact of poor agricultural practices, and the human toll of labor exploitation. Buying locally grown food that is in season puts more money into the farmer’s pocket, supports sound growing practices, and allows you to experience a much broader range of seasonal food–as you’re not limited to varieties that are bred for their ability to withstand days in the back of truck, not for their flavor.

-Try to find a caterer who is willing to use locally grown food that is in season, and visit Local Harvest to find farmers and local food suppliers in your area.

-Don’t let leftover food get thrown away! Arrange to have it sent home with guests or donated to a homeless shelter or food bank.

(definitely not in those shoes though…har har)

I’ve been working on expanding my products and offerings this week, and I’m really excited about some of the new stuff I’ve got going on! Check it out:

• Hair and makeup styling for engagements, bridals, or any portrait session. Fifty dollars and we’ll get you all done up before the shoot. The stylist will also come along for the photo session to make sure you stay looking fabulous. FIFTY DOLLARS! Do you know how awesome that is?
• Newborn sessions: for one hundred dollars I’ll come to your home wielding cute props (or I can use what you already have) and my camera. You also get twenty five birth announcements out of the deal, which brings me to my next point…
• Cards! Folded or flat cards printed with one of your images on smooth cardstock and designed to say/be whatever you’d like. Wedding thank you cards, holiday cards, birth announcements–you name it, we can do it.
• Metallic prints, canvas wraps, and mounted prints now available on the proofing site.
